Madan Krishna Shrestha and Haribansha Acarya are the icons of Nepalese comedy scenario. Both of them have been successful in winning the hearts of many Nepalese with their outstanding comedy skills and mind-blowing performance on screen and on stage. Nepalese have witnessed many of Madan Krishna and Hari Bansha’s famous comedy serials and plays. Bhakunde bhut, lalpurja, Yamaraj , Banpaley etc. are some popular comedy series of Maha Jodi.Maha Jodi have been entertaining the Nepali community for a about 25 years. Hari Bansha Acharya is one of the most noted comedians in the Nepali screen. He has been entertaining the Nepalese community since very long. He has been involved in the comedy scene with his partner Madan Krishna Shrestha and the duo is popular with the title “Maha-Jodi”.Hari Bamsha Acharya was born in a Brahman family. His father’s name is Homanjaya Acharya and Mother’s name is Ganesh Kumari. Born on 27th Kartik 2014 BS (9th October 1958) in Gairidhara, Kathmandu, Hari Bansha Acharya got married married with Meera Acharya in 2040 BS. To talk of his family, he has two son Trilok Acharya and Mohit Acharya.Hari Bamsha started his career by performing with with Hari Prasad Rimal and Jitendra Mahat Avilashi in 2031 BS in Radio Nepal. Back then, Radio Nepal was the only radio station in Nepal. In 2032, Hari Bansha Acharya joined Rastriya Naach Ghar. He had participated in Gaijatra Mahotsav in 2034 BS that upsurged his fame. Before performing with Madan Krishna Shrestha and becoming a part of the MAHA Jodi, he had struggled in the entertainment field alone for 6 years.Hari Bansha Acharya has also played in films. Lovipapi, Filim, Rajamati, Balidaan, Je Bho Ramrai bho, Tan ta sarhai bigrish ni badri are some of his popular films that were immensely popular in the Nepali film industry. Some of his remarkable comedy series like Lal Purja, Pandra Gatay, Bhakunde Bhoot, Series of Hari Bahadur and Madan Bahadur, 50/50, Dashain ko Chyangra etc. will be cherished by Nepalese even after many years.


Madan Krishna Shrestha has presented the Nepalese with many awesome comedy series along with his partner Hari Bansha Acharya. He is considered on of the best comedians of all time in the Nepalese entertainment scene.Madan Krishna Shrestha was born in a Newar family. His father was Ram Krishna Lal Shrestha and mother was Laxmi Devi Shrestha. Born on 7th Baisakh 2007 B.S.( 9th April 1950) in Jitpur Fedi Kathmandu, Madan Krishna Shrestha got married to Yasodha Shrestha in 2031 B.S. He has a son Yaman Shrestha and daughter Shrana Shrestha. He is also involved in singing. He recorded his first song in Radio Nepal in 2022 B.S. At the age of 14, he had to work as a teacher to meet the financial needs of his family. Later on, he joined Karmachari Sanchaya Kosh in 2023 BS. His performance in the Rastriya Gaijatra Mahotsav in 2032 B.S got him instant fame. He had to struggle had alone before the met Hari Bansha Acharya. He and his wife now reside in Dhobidhara while his son and daughter are in the United States.Madan Krishna Shrestha received his primary education from Montessori school, J.P school and Padmadev School. He gave his S.L.C. from Shanti Nikunja School and then he did his I.Com from Mahendra Ratna Public College, and B.A. from a private institute. But he could not pursue his studies further as he got himself too much involved in the comedy field.Madan Krsihna Shrestha has received many awards like Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Jagadamba Shree Award 2047(1991), Jaycess Youth Award 1988, Rastriya Yuba Gaurav Samman 2054 and many more. His theater acts have given masterpieces like. Yamlok, Paralysis, Anshabandha, Cockfight, Raddi Tokari Sapath Grahan Aina Bigyapan (Record breaking drama in Nepal) London Airport 10. Woda Number 34 Rastriya Gaun Khane Katha Pratiyogita etc.Madan Krishna Shrestha’s works of Art will remain alive in the Nepalese entertainment industry forever.


Hey the Maha Fans out there! Your favorite comedians of the nation are now coming on a comic book. Maha jodi who have been equally involved in acting, singing and directing are now being seen as comic characters. Their comic book "Ko vanda Ko Kam" is expected to gain huge support and popularity. Madan Krishna and Hari Bansha, the Maha-Jodi duo launched it by themselves.While launching it to the public, Hari Bansha and madan Krishna said that people will laugh for a while even by seeing their faces in the comic. The comic "Ko Vanda Ko Kam" was launched on the auspicious 30th anniversary of their pairing up as a comic duo. They seemed to be very much happy about it. The sketches in the 44 paged comic are made by Ribin Shrestha whereas the storyline was written by Kiran Manandhar. Sher Publications Pvt. LTd. published the comic.
